IRReady text message consent

How consent is collected

Practice staff ask each patient during scheduling or intake whether they agree to receive appointment and preparation text messages at their mobile number. Staff record the answer in IRReady with the date, time and staff member. IRReady sends a patient text messages only while a recorded consent is on file, and staff can revoke it at any time.

Verbal consent script

Staff read this script to the patient, word for word, before recording consent. IRReady shows the script on the patient screen beside the consent checkbox.

“We would like to send you text messages about your upcoming procedure. Valley Regional Medical Center Interventional Radiology uses IRReady, a service of YMSL Automations LLC, to text appointment and preparation reminders to your mobile number ending in [last four digits]. You will receive up to 3 messages per procedure. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out at any time. Saying yes is not a condition of your care. Do we have your permission to send you these text messages?”

Staff tick the consent checkbox only when the patient says yes. If the patient says no or does not answer, the box stays unticked and IRReady sends no text messages.

Confirmation text

After consent is recorded, the patient receives one confirmation message:

IRReady: You are signed up for appointment and preparation texts from your care team. Up to 3 msgs per procedure. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

This text appears in full beside the consent checkbox in IRReady. The practice name is filled in from the practice's own information. It is shown here for Valley Regional Medical Center Interventional Radiology, a sample practice.

STOP and HELP

Reply STOP to any IRReady text to opt out. You receive one message confirming the opt out. Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected].
